We provide ADD/ADHD Therapy services
ADHD stands for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. It is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by ongoing patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that interfere with daily functioning and development.
The term ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) is an outdated medical term. It was formerly used to describe individuals who struggled with focus and inattention but did not display hyperactivity. Since 1987, the medical community combined these related challenges under the universal term ADHD, which is now classified into three distinct presentations:
Predominantly Inattentive: Corresponds to the old ADD. It is characterized by difficulty staying on task, poor organization, frequent forgetfulness, and extreme distractibility, without hyperactive behavior.
Predominantly Hyperactive-Impulsive: Characterized by excessive fidgeting, restlessness, difficulty sitting still, and impulsive actions (like interrupting others or blurting out answers).
Combined Presentation: The most common type, which involves a mix of both inattentive and hyperactive-impulsive symptoms.
